Thumb Impression
Men give their right thumb print; women give the left thumb print.
This is used to locate the correct set of palm-leaf bundles.
Searching the Leaf
Each thumb impression typically matches 5 to 7 bundles or even more, and each bundle contains 50 to 100 leaves.
The individual’s unique leaf may be found in the first bundle, or it may take going through all.
The nadi reader reads lines from each leaf (such as name, family details, etc.) to identify the correct one.
This process is time-consuming and requires patience, as the reader must go leaf by leaf until a perfect match is found.
In some cases, if the leaf is not found, it means the person is not yet karmically destined to receive their reading.
3. Reading the Leaf
Once found, the palm leaf gives predictions about:
Past, present, and future—including education, career, marriage, health, children, finances, and lifespan.
The first part (General Kaandam) provides a summary of all life areas.
Further detailed predictions are available in specific Kaandams (chapters) for each area of life.
4. Recording & Translation
The original poetic Tamil prediction is written in a separate notebook.
It is then explained and translated into the seeker’s preferred language.
We offer Nadi readings in multiple languages for your convenience:
English
Hindi
Tamil
Telugu
Kannada
If you require another language, we can arrange a professional translator to assist you.
Appointment – A seeker must book a date, sometimes months in advance, due to high demand. The name of the seeker is not required; it is said that the leaf itself will reveal it.
Thumb Impression – On the appointed day, the seeker gives their thumb impression. The reader then searches the relevant bundles to find the correct leaf.
Verification (Sakshis/Witnesses) – Each leaf contains identifying details about the seeker: names of parents, spouse, siblings, order of birth, etc. These details are called sakshis (witnesses). The seeker confirms or denies them as the search continues until a perfect match is found.
Recording – Once identified, the original Tamil verses on the leaf are written into a notebook. The reader then explains their meaning in spoken Tamil, which is translated into other languages if required. The session is usually also recorded on audio for the seeker.
Rare Cases – Sometimes a leaf contains details about only one person; in such cases, the original palm leaf is given to the seeker. Otherwise, leaves are not kept but periodically immersed in the River Cauvery, as per tradition.
